Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you allowed to practice?
As a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), I am only able to provide services to clients who reside in Ontario.
Will my insurance cover your services?
At the moment, OHIP does not cover therapy services. However, it is more than likely your personal insurance company may cover my services as a Registered Social Worker because my profession is highly regulated.
It is always best practice to check with your insurance company about what therapy coverage they provide.
If your insurance only covers attendance with a registered psychotherapist, I am supervised by one which allows my services to be signed off by them, meaning your insurance will reimburse you for sessions with me.
Are you supervised?
I am supervised by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) who is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My supervisor provides guidance/insight with my work which translates to better support for my clients. She has been practicing for over 15 years and is well versed in the provision of psychotherapy.
Do you provide a sliding scale?
At the moment, my fee per session is $140 which is fairly average for a practitioner in my block of experience. I do not have a set formula for a sliding scale, but if you are experiencing financial difficulties and/or are not covered by insurance, I may be able to offer you services at a reduced fee.
